What would you recommend for those who want to do a good job detailing their own car?

The last thing I want is for a fellow Crestonians to damage something on their own car while detailing, so I always recommend having knowledge of the ingredients in the products you are using and diluting them correctly, many household cleaners can be very tough on the more plush vinyl's and soft plastics in cars. The most important thing I can say is DO NOT use glass cleaners containing ammonia on your gauge clusters or infotainment screens! These screens or clear pieces are actually plastic and can be damaged by ammonia, ammonia is a great cleaner when used correctly but it can cause cloudiness on those surfaces.
